The Appearance of the Holy Virgin in Beauraing, Belgium
The little place Beauraing lies in the southeast corner of Belgium, about eight kilometers from the French and Luxemburg borders. The best way of getting to this little town, is by rail from the capital Brussels via Namen (Namur), and from there to the village Dinant which is situated on the Maas-river (Meusse). Beauraing lies another twenty kilometers further. The entire distance from Brussels to the place of the appearances is about 110 kilometers.
On disembarking at the Beauraing station, take the long street in front of the station until the highway is reached. It is here where the home of the Voisin children is situated. At the T-junction, go up left to the Rue de Bouillon, the big road which goes to Bouillon. One of the side-streets of the Rue du Bouillon leads to the big basilica at the place of the appearance, just before the railroad subway. Here stands a large building which used to be a cloister. In the garden of the cloister is a statue of the Holy Virgin, at the place where She appeared.
Altogether the Holy Virgin appeared here thirty-three times, from the 29th November 1932 to the 3rd of January 1933. She appeared to five children of the two families Degeimbre and Voisin: Andreé en Gilberte Degeimbre and Fernande, Gilberte en Albert Voisin, four girls and a boy.
Fernande Voisin, who was born in 1917 and was therefore about fifteen years old at the time of the appearance, was the oldest. She completed her studies and was a lovable and sympathetic girl. Her sister Gilberte, two years younger than Fernande, was an intelligent and openhearted girl. Their little brother Albert Voisin was in turn two years younger than Gilberte and was therefore about eleven years old.
Andreé Degeimbre was born in 1918 and was about fourteen years old. She was a shy and timid girl who barely spoke to other people. During our visit to Beauraing we saw her selling souvenirs at a stall. Luckily I managed to take a photo, because she disappeared immediately. The house of her parents, in one of the little roads behind the church, was also set up to sell souvenirs. Her sister was also called Gilberte, but they always referred to her as 'little' Gilberte, in contrast to the older Gilberte Voisin. Little Gilberte was born on the thirteenth of August, 1913, and was therefore about nine years old at the time of the appearances.
At the time the Holy Virgin appeared, the world was in crisis. It was a time of joblessness, hunger and riots.
Beauraing lies in the French part of Belgium, and the Holy Virgin spoke to the children in French.
On a day when the children were on their way to the cloister school to go and fetch the older Gilberte, something extraordinary happened. The railroad which runs from Beauraing to Neufchateau and Luxemburg is situated directly behind the cloister and crosses the road on a viaduct. When the children arrived at the cloister, they first went to a little representation of the Lourdes grotto. When they rang the doorbell, Albert called out: "Look, the Holy Virgin is walking on the bridge."
It was indeed the case. Above the grotto and viaduct was a radiant figure, a lady clothed in white with her feet covered by a cloud. When the sister of the cloister opened the door for them, she saw nothing. She noticed, however, that the children were very excited.
The next day the children went to the cloister again to fetch Gilberte at the school. Suddenly they saw the appearance of the Holy Virgin again, again in the same place above the bridge. On the next appearance, the Holy Virgin appeared in a thorn tree. After that She always appeared in the same thorn tree.
On the 2nd September, the cloister's mother superior blocked all entrances to the garden and let a couple of dogs loose in it. Despite everything the Holy Virgin still appeared to the children, who were now kneeling outside the garden. Albert asked her what She wished from them. The answer was that they should be good. That evening She appeared a couple of times. On the 2nd December the children were prohibited from going to the garden. But outside, 150 people were waiting for the Holy Virgin.
The appearances continued. The children were also, as in the case of other appearances, subjected to all sorts of difficult tests. On the 17th of December the Holy Virgin requested to the children that a chapel be built. Four days later she told them that she was the Immaculate Conception. To the question as to why She came, She answered that people had to assemble there as pilgrims. In the mean time, the number of pilgrims had increased to fifteen thousand.
The 29th December 1932 was the second last appearance of the Holy Virgin in this location. When She extended Her arms in a farewell, Fernande noticed a heart of gold on her chest which was surrounded by shimmering rays.
The last appearance happened on the 3rd of January 1933. She spoke first to little Gilberte and entrusted a secret to her which was never divulged. After that she spoke to the older Gilberte:
"You will convert sinners."
A secret message was also entrusted to her. To Andreé She said:
"I am the Mother of God, the Queen of the Heavens. Pray continuously."
On Her departure She showed her golden heart. Fernande did not have the luck to see the Holy Virgin and was very unhappy about it. Suddenly she heard a bang and saw a big ball of fire in the thorn tree. Then she saw the Holy Virgin who saved the last question for her: -
"Do you love My Son? Then you should sacrifice yourself for Him."
After 1933, two million pilgrims visited Beauraing. Various cases of healing caught attention. A well-known case was a lady from Turnhout who was partly disfigured and subjected to big growths, as a result of tuberculosis. Operations had been ruled out and there was little hope for her. She undertook a pilgrimage to Beauraing, where she spoke to the Degeimbre children before going to the thorn tree. When she later arrived at home, the pain and growths had disappeared and she could live a normal life again.
In 1943 a big statue of the Holy Virgin was erected under the thorn tree. She stands in the middle of a chandelier. A big basilica was also erected there.
The following is known about the five children. Andreé Degeimbre never left Beauraing. Her husband suffered from bad health and she was forced to open a shop which sells religious articles. They had three children. Every evening at six-thirty, summer and winter, she led the service at the thorn tree. Gilberte Voisin returned to Beauraing after her husband, who was a policeman, died in a motor accident in 1953. She had two children. Gilberte Degeimbre lives in Brussels and had two children. Fernande Voisin lives in Namen and had five children. Albert Voisin had three children and for a time trained local preachers in the then Belgian Congo.
The messages which the Holy Virgin gave the children can be regarded as a repetition of the Fatima messages. The Virgin with the golden heart appeared thirty-three time to five children. Thirty-three was the life-span of Jesus Christ. Thirty-three times they heard more or less the same message: -
"Be good, be good, be good."
Every time they were struck by her beauty and radiant image. In Beauraing, She was the symbol of the woman God created: a radiant, happy person who only radiated goodness, Light and love. She brought the children to ecstasy. They were as it were absorbed in her world of goodness as our planet should be; a crystal planet which radiates God's Light to the entire universe. The five children, as in the case of the five pointed star in Banneux, symbolically represented five types of humans. She, the Heavenly Mother, instructed Her earthly children to be good, as God created us; children who experience His goodness and live according to His image.
The time of the appearances of Our Dear Lady of Beauraing was a difficult one for humanity. Joblessness and a worldwide depression reigned. Communism and Fascism started gaining ground, and all hope was focused on the World-Mother, where She in Her appearances in Godly white light was a true Light for the world. In times of depression, when the material food becomes scant, the spiritual food increases, as long as people will receive it and live according to God's Light.
Every time the children waived, She opened Her arms widely, so that the children could see Her golden, immaculate heart which radiated Light. Her message on each occasion was
"Pray often, pray often, pray often."
At the end of her thirty-third appearance she spoke to each child personally. Why thirty-three times, at the tree, and mostly in a ball of fire, after which She appeared as the Queen of the Heavens. The Godly family is Light and descended to the dust earth to bring us back to our source, the Godly Light.
Is the thirty-three times She appeared in the tree not symbolic of the thirty-three vertebra of our back, including the fixed vertebra in our lower back. The sacral part of our bodies is that which gives man so much trouble in this day and age. I refer to the sexual misconduct of our time. The sacral part of our back is totally out of harmony compared with the time of the beginning. The snake is very active at the origin of the back as he was active at the foot of the tree of good and evil. We stand at the brink of the takeover of God's world, but our world of self-will reigns supreme with most people.
Man was created by God, and Christ's sacrifice two thousand years ago should already have brought him to the symbolic tree of life, God's life. Christ brought eternal life for us, the tree of life which is only good. "Be good, be good, be good" says the Mother of all nations to the five children. The five children are here the symbol of humanity, which were separated into five races under the tree of good and evil : the black, brown, yellow, red and white races. Under the tree of life there will not be five races any more, only spiritual light-people who will live in the light of the Lamb. The number five is then also the symbol of the five wounds of Christ, which will become the five lights of the New Jerusalem. He is the Lamp of the New Jerusalem. His five wounds will form a star of light, the new star. He will be the new sun for the new world and the new man, who will wear Christ's victory-cross like a crown on the head.
In Beauraing each child, each race, receives a different secret message.
Albert, the son, asked quite a number of questions to the Lady at the tree. She looked beautiful, not older than 18 or 20 years. Her eyes were deep blue and rays of light emanated from her head. She wore a loose white mantel with a tinge of blue. She always folded her hands as if she was in prayer. Albert asked her who she was. She smiled and said she was the Immaculate Conception. On the question as to what she wished for, she said: "Note carefully, always be good." After three appearances with the same message, she also asked Andreé id she wanted to be good.
Take the message of goodness and her appearance at the into your heart. It is the tree of goodness, the tree of life, the tree of the New Jerusalem for the person who is only good. This is the symbol she gave to Albert. Albert was 11 years old, the number of the disciples at the last supper after Judas left them.
After the message to little Gilberte, the child cried, because she would not see the Holy Virgin again in this life. After the Holy Mother bade farewell to Andreé, her golden heart radiated light. Andreé's heart probably remained one with Hers. All four children understood her message. Only Fernande, the fifth point of the star, could not hear or see the Holy Virgin. She was deeply disappointed, but continued to pray on her knees, in front of the tree of Her appearances.
At the end, Fernande did manage to see Her and her golden heart. She sank weeping on the ground. Strong arms helped her and brought her back to the cloister. Fernande, which group of people did you represent?
As I got to know the Heavenly Mother, I know how terribly worried she is about Israel. Our Heavenly Family waits for Israel to repent and convert to the Christian faith, the faith in Her Son, God's Son, who will deliver the world, also in a cloud of light. That is why the Heavenly Mother prepares us for Jesus Christ's coming in light. His light will expel all darkness from the world. All people will apply the messages She gave to the children; pray often, be good, be good, be good, love Jesus Christ, turn to Him. Then He who always IS in all, can take over the world.
It is not only the symbolical Israel which must be converted to Christ, but all five children must learn to do God's will on earth and to receive His light. It is precisely the Godly light which caused the healings at the tree. Miracles happened - just think of the lady of Turnhout. Doctors regarded her healing as a miracle. It is but one of many miracles, but the most important is the healing of our world of which the five children are the symbol. It is the person who must apply Godly goodness in his heart. The tree is the symbol of eternal life, which will give its leaves for the healing of the nations. Read Revelation 21. Where Mary cries in La Salette over the sins of the world, she calls people, and specifically the five races, to repentance. Her immaculate golden heart is the symbol of immaculate love which will reign in the New Jerusalem Her Son is the King, she is the Queen.
May we now account our own experiences at the place of her appearance? As is well known, Beauraing has the force fields of nations, light, goodness and love. It was evening and in Europe daylight in summer lasts a lot longer. People came to attend the service at the tree. Candles burnt around her statue, where she had a golden heart, with golden rays emanating from her head, and a rosary on her arm. We from South Africa especially asked her to help the country. We also ignited a candle and carefully placed it with the other candles. In our prayer, we asked the Holy Virgin if she wanted to bless South Africa:
"Heavenly Mother, what will happen to God's light in South Africa.?"
When we returned to our bench between the other pilgrims, a small woman suddenly got up with a candle in her hand which was not lit yet. She moved to our South Africa candle to light her candle from its flame. In the process, our candle was extinguished. We received a very big shock and asked what would happen to South Africa now it's light was extinguished. It was symbolical of our time, then 1994. Everybody thought that our light, God's light, would never burn again. But what happened then? The little woman lit our candle again with her burning candle. A strong wind had come up, and she removed both her candle and ours from their candle sticks and placed them next to a protective wall where they had no burden from the wind. The miracle for South Africa happened, because early the next day when we returned to the place, all the candles had been blown out by the wind. It was a miracle, only South Africa's candle was still burning. Are these candle-events not of great symbolical importance to South Africa?
We know personally how important the southern point of the world is to our Heavenly Father. These events confirm it at a time when so many people are in fear. They are leaving the country in large numbers, they only see darkness, and not His light. We who are His light-people, should know that our Creator will bring light into the darkness; and where His light burns there cannot possibly be darkness. You know it. But we must let our light, His light, shine for our fellow man.
We must love our neighbor. In the process we may experience difficulty, as the symbolism of the candle showed us. But if we believe and pray and give our neighbor over to God, it can happen. And when it happens, our neighbor will also receive God's light and both of us will be brought to safety. It is symbolically the wall which protected the two candles from the storms which rage in our country and from which people are fleeing. But as Jesus calmed the storms on the sea of Galilee, so shall He also at His time calm the storm in South Africa, as long as we do not, like Peter did, start doubting... But no, Peter did doubt, but Jesus still saved him. His light kept burning. His faith was bigger than his doubt.
If your candle starts flickering from doubt and everything around you becomes dark, Jesus Christ will protect your candlestick and your candle. South Africa's light will become His light for the world. His two candles, the black and the white, will stand together spiritually against the wall of doubt. The storm will not touch them. God's light in them is too strong, stronger than the storm. We will be able to walk over the water of emotions with Christ. We will not doubt. We give the country and the world over in His hands. He, the King of all worlds, will rule us.
