The Appearance of the Holy Virgin in Nongoma, Natal

Deep in Natal, South Africa, not far from the Swaziland border, lies a little place called Nongoma. In the years 1955 to 1971, the Holy Virgin appeared here on a number of occasions. Nongoma has a hospital which is administered by Benedictine Sisters. The hospital has a small chapel where the nuns and patients could attend church services and holy mass. In all probability, this is where Reinolda May saw the Holy Mother, an occurrence which happened ten times in sixteen years. According to the accounts by sister Reinolda May, she did not call them visions or appearances, but rather 'meetings'. As a result of one of these meetings, a place with seven fountains was discovered not far from Nongoma, and a small, simple chapel was erected in honor of Our Lady. The small chapel is found in Ngome, in the middle of a tea plantation, approximately 26 km from Nongoma.

The easiest way to reach Ngome is from Vryheid, from where the road to Louwsburg should be followed. Ngome is about 84 km from Vryheid. After 25 km a road, the R618, branches out to Ngome and Nongoma. On this road one passes a saw mill, next to Ngome, on the right hand side. Further down the road lies the tea plantation, which you have to drive through. The little chapel of Ngome is visible on the right hand side, and is built on a stone plateau. It has a small entrance portal, and the door is normally locked. A type of slave bell is visible outside which is used as a church bell. If you ring the bell, a little black boy appears from nowhere with a key to admit visitors. If you stand at the entrance of the chapel, the seven water sources are located to the right. The terrain is densely vegetated and the ground descends from the location. At the time of our visit, road access was poor, so that we could not reach the sources.

In the chapel itself is furnished with a simple altar, with a painting behind it depicting the appearance to Sister Reinolda. It was painted by Josef Aman from Munich. The Holy Virgin is shown with the host in front of her chest. The painting was brought to Ngome on the May 1, 1963, about five years after the eighth appearance.

When we drove back after our visit and turned right at the saw mill, we came to Nongoma. Just in front of the little town, on the right hand side of the road, is a big hospital. The roman catholic church is located just a bit further. Presumably, it is here where Sister Reinolda saw most of the appearances.

In order to return, a road can be taken just before Ngome which goes in the direction of Louwsburg, from where Vryheid can be reached via Ngobeni.

Sister Reinolda May's wrote down her experiences. The first appearance took place on August 22, 1955. It was six o'clock in the morning: -

Shortly after receiving the Holy Communion, the blessed Virgin stood in front of me. She appeared in a beautiful white light which was brighter than the sun. She stood on the globe, attired in shimmering white, and wore a veil which draped from her head to the globe. On her chest, was a big host surrounded with shimmering light.

Our Dear Lady said the following:

'Call me the tabernacle of God. Believe in Me, you are also such a tabernacle. I wish to be worshipped with this title to the greater glory of My Son. I wish that more people prepare tabernacles for me. I wish more people would kneel in front of the altars in churches. Do not be afraid, reveal this.'

I then asked: 'To whom?'

Our Dear Lady answered:

'Do not be afraid and tell it to your priest.'

The next appearance, the second, was on October 21, 1955 and the third on the next day. On both appearances the blessed Virgin showed herself in the same manner. She repeated her requests and added: -

'Make it known to the world, you are the instrument of God.'

After that Christ appeared from the host. I was one with Him.

The fourth appearance was on March 15, 1956. After the Holy Mass, Mary again stood in front of me. She said: -

'My child, I know of your suffering.'

She leaned forward and put her arms around me. 'I ask for a sign', I answered, 'Not for me, but for the others, so that they believe me, they don't believe me.'

Mother Mary then said: -

'I wish that a holy place be erected for me. At the place where the seven sources come together. There, I will distribute grace bountifully. Many people will be converted to God.'

When I asked where the seven sources were, our Mother, instead of giving an answer, raised her hand majestically, away from the host and pointed in a certain direction. I was very glad because now I had certainty. She then continued:

'Do not be afraid. Make it known, it is my work. I shall see you again'.

The fifth appearance was on June 5, 1956, on the day of the festival of the Sacred Heart. When the sacrament was taken, the blessed Virgin approached me from the altar, again as a living being. It was four-thirty in the afternoon. She did not speak.

On March 15, 1957, just after holy mass, I saw the Holy Virgin again. (The sixth appearance). Our Dear Lady said:

'I come to make you stronger. I use you, a humble, insignificant person. Submit yourself entirely.'

The was a small interval. After that She put her arms around me again and said:

'I am trying to save the world through the Host, My Fruit. I am completely unified with the Host because I was one with Him on the cross. Terrible things await you if you do not repent.'

I asked: "We?".

Again our Mother answered:

'Yes, if you, the believers, do not repent, and also if the entire world does not repent.'

'Mother, give me a sign!', I asked. Our Dear Lady answered:

'Be full of love and willingness. All people who believe these My words, shall receive a sign from Me. Tell everyone of these words.'

The seventh appearance took place on May 24, 1957. Our Dear Lady gave a personal message to Sister Reinolda, which was meant only for her. The contents of the message was not disclosed.

On December 8, 1957, the Holy Mother called on the region, while looking in the direction of the mountain at Ngome. She heard our Dear Lady say: -

'There is the mountain where the seven sources are.'

At six o'clock on the morning of April 17, 1958, the Holy Virgin again appeared to the nun. It was the eighth meeting.

She commanded me:

'Go to your place. Hurry for time is short. I must hold back my gifts of grace firmly because souls are not trying to help me. I long for those who were selected by me, to help me.'

I asked Her: 'What must we do?', and our Mother answered:

'Be a mass of people, prepare hosts for Me which are fully available. Only an ocean of beautiful hosts can overcome the unbelieving world and restrain the punishing hand of God, our Father. Do not tire. It comforts me to tell you this. I shall never leave you in the lurch.'

I then asked for a second time: 'Mother, where is the place of the sources?' She showed me the direction with the movement of her arm, exactly in the same manner She did two years and ten months previously, and then added:

'At your place on the mountain. Do not be afraid. Make it known quickly.'

The ninth appearance of the Holy Virgin took place on May 26, 1970, at around midnight. It was the second night after a visit by the devil, truly a terrible night. Everything was light around me when I was disturbed in my sleep. Mother Mary stood next to me. The tabernacle of the Almighty. She embraced me again and comforted me. She said:

'I know of your suffering. I was at your side and I will never forsake you. It is My work and I shall bring it to victory.'

Before Mother Mary disappeared, She said:

'Look aside.'

It was a surprise for me. I saw Michael in armour with a spear in his right hand. On his right, dressed in white, stood a cherubim with his arms on his chest. A few minutes elapsed before they disappeared. It was indeed a big comfort to me.

On May 2, 1970 the tenth appearance to place. It was in the Ngome chapel. Shortly before I left my place at ten to five in the afternoon. I went to the chapel with a few women. The reason was that one of the scholars was in great trouble. A man, her neighbor was very angry with her and her family because they decided to join the catholic church. I asked Our Lady for help and courage for the family. I also asked Mary, the tabernacle of the Almighty, to convert the man who caused all the trouble. At the end of the prayer there was a short interval; then I noticed that Mary left the painting and walked forward, full of life, shimmering, and very beautiful. She stood in the middle of the altar. I raised my hand and called out with a loud voice: 'Look at Mary'. I had the impression that other people saw her too. I cannot forget this living painting. Four weeks later the man who caused the trouble asked the priest for forgiveness. Since then, peace reigned.

At the end of December 1957, Father Ignatius Jutz O.S.B., After much searching, found the seven sources. The chapel was thus erected after this date. The chapel was erected as Mary, the tabernacle of the Most High, requested. Sister Reinolda died on the April 1, 1981 in Inkamana and was buried there on the 6th of that month.

It was only in 1989 that we were led to Ngome in Kwazulu-Natal, to the place "The Miracle of the Seven Sources." It was on Good Friday 1989 that we entered. We are indebted to Sister Reinolda who was such a good instrument to see the holy vision and spread the news. The Holy Virgin chose her and called her the tabernacle. She expressed the wish that more people would present themselves to be tabernacles. She also told Sister Reinolda that she should not be afraid, but that she should tell Her message to the priest.

The message to Sister Reinolda is enormous. The place has never been made known to the world, but God's power will emanate from there over the entire world, in all His Godly Light, as the painting in the chapel indicates. Mary wears the host on her heart. So shall She through the host, the body of Christ, save the world. As the message to Sister Reinolda reads: 'I will save the world through the Host, My Fruit.'

Here She calls the host, the body of Christ, her Fruit. I refer to my question to Jesus, as described in the Introduction, if we may also worship His Mother. His reply to me, on the way to Lourdes, fits here very beautifully:

'She is the blossom, I am the fruit. There is no fruit without the blossom.'

In Ephesus She tells us:

'I am the spiritual fertility.'

Jesus was received spiritually by Mary. In Ngome She carries Her Son, the Host, on her heart of love. The Host radiates Godly white light. He is the light. She, the blossom, brings the fruit of light for the world. The blossom always appears from heaven in Light. We have the blossom, His Mother, and the fruit, the Son. Think of the tree of life in the New Jerusalem which gives its spiritual fruit, and its leaves for the healing of nations. That will replace the fruits of the tree of good and evil which Eve gave us, the fruits of death, birth agony and disease.

Spiritually God's Son redeemed us from the force field of disease and death through His suffering on the cross, the symbolical tree of good and evil. Through God's grace we may now already prepare us for the tree of life. We may partake of the fruits of the tree of life. But first we must return to the Almighty. We must put ourselves available for His Light, His Will and His Love. Without relinquishing ourselves to Him we will never be able to partake of the spiritual fruits of the tree of life. First, we must be His tabernacle, as the Holy Mother calls herself in Ngome, and where She calls on us also to be His tabernacles. Make yourself available as a tabernacle in His service and Her service. Both man and woman must become tabernacles of the Most High, filled with the Holy Spirit as His Mother was before His birth. Our heart should carry His host, His body. See how His host radiates pure white light - He truly is the Light of the world.

The host is also the symbol of the new world, the body which He gave to the world, His tabernacle of God. Jesus is a symbol of man, we may be a tabernacle for Him as His Mother was in Ngome, to the greater glory of Her Son. Maybe you will wonder why She told us that the south is the receiving area of His life. The first life was brought here by God. Now that our entire planet is on the eve of a total revolution, it is conceivable that He, the Creator, will again use this part of earth to recreate His new world from here. That is why our Mother asks sister Reinolda to prepare more tabernacles for Her, more people who will listen to God's voice and prepare the world.

The entire world will be like a tabernacle; His new world, His New Jerusalem, born from the seven fountains of living water. As Christ stands in the north between the seven churches, between the seven candlesticks, so He stands here between the seven fountains life; His life for His new people. It is much grander than the reader can realize. Years of intensive work preceded the appearance. It is His work which He assigns to the person who listens to Him. As the Holy Mother becomes alive and walks out of her painting, so our Heavenly Family becomes alive to us. Then you do not live for yourself, but they live in you as their tabernacle, and that is what we should be. The world will be a shimmering host. Christ will appear in His world of Light.

As you can see on the painting, the Heavenly Mother stands on the world: His world and Her world; the spiritual Father and the spiritual Mother in perfect Harmony. If we look further to Her appearance in Ngome, we see that the host wears two rings. Everything Christ does as Master, always occurs in triplicate, also in this case. As we may receive the new world through Him, so also will we receive a new sun, the new Christ-sun, the Lamp of the New Jerusalem. Look at the beautiful ring of light it radiates: the golden spiritual light mentioned previously. Then the physical gold of South Africa will no longer determine our values, but the gold will change into spiritual gold. The sun also receives a ring of spiritual gold. The earth and the sun are going to be a spiritual earth and a spiritual sun.

A God's tabernacle, man may serve Him in order to bring about His will.

In Rue du Bac, Paris, our Mother also stands on the world and Her right foot crushes Eve's snake. In Ephesus She taught us that. Together with the angel Michael She fights against the force field of the snake, and specifically here where the new life will stream in. The Drakensberg stretches from the Cape all the way to Egypt and Israel, symbolically the snake which we can only vanquish with God's power and grace; the Father-Mother God power which is written in all. We must render back to the Holy Trinity that which belongs to Them. May we serve Them, especially in this part of the world and be God's tabernacle, the symbol of Ngome.
